At Skills & Learning, some of our favourite moments are seeing people surprise themselves – mastering a computer skill, speaking their first words in another language, picking up a paintbrush after years away, or rediscovering confidence in English and Maths. Those moments of possibility remind us why learning matters.
This September, we’ll be trying something new, too. For the very first time, we’re holding an Open Day at the Poole Adult Learning Centre. We’ve shared our courses in many ways before, but never like this – a whole day dedicated to exploration, conversation, and discovery. Instead of reading about classes in a brochure or online, visitors can step inside, wander through classrooms, and meet the tutors who bring our courses to life.
What excites us most is the chance to connect face to face. Our tutors are ready to share their knowledge and advice, helping visitors see possibilities they may not have considered before.
We imagine the day filled with conversations and curiosity: people asking questions, sharing hopes, and discovering opportunities they might not have thought of before. Some may come looking for a career change, others for a creative outlet or a way to build confidence. Whatever the reason, we hope everyone leaves with fresh inspiration.
On Thursday 4th September 2025, from 10am to 4pm, our doors will be open. If you’re wondering what learning could mean for you, it might just be the beginning of your own journey – and we’d be delighted to welcome you.
