Businesses and the self-employed who must now provide their quarterly VAT returns via the HMRC’s new Making Tax Digital scheme are being urged to consider using the free to use HMRC recognised Magic Tax solution developed by a Ringwood based software solutions company.
Annette Rees, Manager and accountant at Jenny Barnes & Co Ltd, a Hampshire based firm of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers, has experience with the key accountancy software packages. Recognising that not all of their clients need full software packages, they will either use Magic Tax to send the required spreadsheet information to HMRC as part of their service or encourage the businesses to upload to Magic Tax themselves.
“Either way, we can keep the process of providing what is essentially the same information they did prior to Making Tax Digital, within a simple easy to use process without any additional cost,” said Annette Rees.
Nicki Smith, Marketing Manager at Hampshire based KFA Connect, the IT Software Solutions company who developed Magic Tax, said that this is exactly why they developed the free bridging system: “We are pleased that Annette and the team are willing to encourage the use of the website. The more businesses that use Magic Tax, the more voluntary donations we can expect to generate for Marie Curie via our JustGiving link. The total is growing all the time new people use the service.”
