Actisense Achieve Major International Accreditations

Posted on: 15/12/2016

Multi-award winning NMEA specialists, Actisense, has achieved ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations – certifying the company’s commitment to quality and environmental management.
Leading marine electronics brand, Actisense, has achieved two major accreditations from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). These accreditations are a cumulation of several years work by the entire team at Actisense to optimise their quality and environmental management.
The ISO 9001 is an accreditation awarded to companies to certify that they have a quality management system in place to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements and that quality is consistently improved. To achieve the ISO 9001, Actisense has had to prove that they adhere to a number of quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, as well as a process approach and an emphasis on continual improvement.
Actisense has also achieved ISO 14001. This accreditation certifies that Actisense’s environmental impact is being consistently measured and improved. To accomplish this, Actisense has had to implement an overall framework for an effective environmental management system across the entire company.
Danny Thrasher, Actisense Head of Sales & Operations, who was responsible for the delivery of the ISO projects said:
“We are thrilled to finally achieve the ISO accreditations. This has been an immense team effort across the entirety of the business. From our engineers to sales and marketing, everyone has had a part to play. I would personally like to thank and congratulate all our staff for their commitment in gaining ISO 9001 and 14001.”
Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 marks Actisense’s most recent success in a year full of accomplishments. These have included an expansion to larger premises, the launch of a new product range and several award wins.
Phil Whitehurst, CEO of Actisense, said:
“We have been working towards attaining these ISO accreditations since 2013. It has been an ongoing project to put structured working practices in place. It has been of great importance to us that we implement these structures as they ensure Actisense is doing its best to guarantee top quality in all that we do – from the products we develop for our customers to the working atmosphere for our staff. In a world that is increasingly showing the effects of unfriendly environmental practices we are also keen to ensure we limit our environmental impact and to achieve ISO 14001 is a great acknowledgement of this.”
