Air Ambulance Week 2023 – We Can’t Save Lives Without You

Air Ambulance Week 2023 takes place between 4th – 10th September and is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the vital life-saving work of air ambulance charities across the UK.

Since March 2000, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has been there for critically ill and injured people when they need us the most. The enhanced skills of our team, specialist equipment and drugs that we carry, along with the speed of our response, can make the difference between life and death.

Our team of highly skilled pilots, critical care practitioners, nurses, and doctors are operational for 19 hours a day (7.00am-2.00am), 365 days a year; together they work tirelessly to save lives.

Our pilots use their incredible flying skills to reach patients in the local community, often in remote locations, by the roadside, in a park or on a beach. Our clinical team provide complex and life-saving interventions at the scene of the incident. Together, they bring the hospital to the patient, giving them the best possible chance of survival. Once patients reach hospital, our patient and family liaison nurses are swiftly on hand to provide support during the hardest time of their lives.

Last year, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was tasked to 2,424 incidents, with each mission costing approximately £3,500.

We are proud to partner with many local businesses and organisations and would love to work with many more. When you partner with us you become part of our community; together we work to create a partnership which meets your company’s objectives and provides wide-ranging benefits to your business.

We can’t save lives without you, so if would like to develop a relationship with a reputable, life-saving charity, we would be delighted to hear from you.
