Are you ready for your very own Strictly moment? Then Business Come Dancing @Home 2021 is the New Year challenge for you!

Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW) is a registered charity (1111641) dedicated to transforming communities through dance. The money raised supports our programmes which include dance sessions for people managing health conditions such as Dementia or Parkinson’s, dance workshops for young people battling with mental health issues, and support for established and emerging professional dance artists.

Covid-19 has hit PDSW very hard as we were forced to cancel all of our income-generating activity. With difficult times ahead for us, your help and support in fundraising is very much needed now more than ever to help us to continue bringing the joy and therapy of dance to our communities.

The event takes place on Saturday 27th February 2021 in the Ocean Room Theatre at Pavilion Dance in Bournemouth (which is our @Home), and sees representatives from local businesses performing with a professional dancer, and fundraising along the way. Normally this would have taken place in November this year in front of an audience of 200 at a black tie event at the Marriott Hotel; however, the current situation has meant we have had to change our plans and adapt! And so we have Business Come Dancing @Home 2021!

You will be partnered with a professional dancer who will teach you a new dance style in 8 hourly sessions, which you will rehearse in one of our beautiful dance studios in the heart of Bournemouth. Rehearsals will commence w/c 4th January. All dances will be socially distanced and Covid-secure. Your colleagues, friends and family will support you on your dancing journey!

On Showday there will be a dress rehearsal, followed by the Gala performance in the evening to a limited and socially-distanced live audience. Our 3 expert judges will have the incredibly difficult job of deciding who will be the winner of the PDSW BCD Trophy! Alongside this we will be making a film around the event, which will be available pay-per-view after the competition to your invited friends and colleagues who were not able to attend the live performance – and a chance for you to relive the excitement of the evening!

We can accommodate groups of up to 5 for a group dance if your company has several willing contenders!

Previous businesses who took part include Beales group, Savills, Morgan Sindall, Rebbeck Brothers, Hope Housing, Filer Knapper llp, Frettens, Hoare Lea, Purple HR, Sarah Abbott Gardens.

“It was such an amazing experience, I loved every minute, even with the nerves. I felt so proud of myself, and what I achieved, and have had such lovely comments from so many people, family, friends, and even those at the event supporting other dancers” – Phillipa Blunt, Filer Knapper LLP

“I can already say that after 2 lessons I LOVE it. For those hours you are in the lesson everything else ceases to matter and I feel I am truly ‘in the moment’, I leave feeling great each and every time. This can only be beneficial both to my physical and mental health and so raising money to help PDSW will in turn help others.” – Sarah Abbott, Sarah Abbott Gardens

You will fundraise for us along your journey, with lots of help and support from us!
