Aspire Training Team Reduces their Carbon Footprint through COVID19

Reducing energy usage and the consequent carbon footprint, Going Green is an ethos that runs through Dorset based Aspire Training Team. Having introduced energy saving initiatives, recycling programmes and improved efficiencies, the environmental impact has been hugely reduced.

In the past year Aspire have made the decision to close their office in Poole in order to reduce their carbon footprint. Due to this decision they’re saving on gas, electric, waste and the number of employees who travel to work has been reduced. In fact, over 50% of their staff now work from home.

Due to Aspire’s efforts and sustainable practices their current YTD CO2e (Carbon dioxide equivalent, all greenhouse gases included) is 5,937 compared to their prior YTD CO2e which was 26,411. This means Aspire only need to plant 89 trees in order to become carbon neutral which has reduced drastically from 396 trees last year.

Aspire are also focusing on remote learning so their training team do not need to travel as much, all their portfolios are electronic so there is no need for printing, none of the waste they generate goes to landfill and they’ve introduced e-bikes to promote sustainable travel when travel is required.

Cheryl Hadland, Managing Director of Aspire Training Team says ‘We produce a monthly carbon footprint report to ensure everyone across the company is aware of the impact they are making through our activities. We are closer than ever to becoming a carbon neutral company and will continue to introduce new energy efficient action plans in order to reduce our environmental impact on a day to day basis’.

Aspire Training Team are one of the South’s leading apprenticeship and training providers offering a range of courses and apprenticeships in childcare, business administration, leadership and management and customer service.
