The Festival of Wellbeing is back for its annual event in Boscombe Chine
Gardens on Thursday 27th July 2023 from 12.30 pm to 4pm.
Organised by BCHA, it has become a family favourite in the town’s calendar and an opportunity for the community to get together.
It is a free and fun packed afternoon, featuring activities for all the family including live music, face-painting, garden games, a fundraising raffle and a whole host of wellbeing activities.
The festival is staged to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing, as well as the vital work carried out in the community by BCHA. Through its activities and stallholders, the event will promote the five steps to wellbeing. These steps, recommended by the NHS, include:
- Connect with other people
- Be physically active
- Learn new skills
- Give to others
- Pay attention to the present moment
Open to everyone, the event welcomes up to 30 stalls from various partner groups and local organisations, which has previously included Cherry Tree Nursery, Faithworks, Skills and Learning, Dorset Mind, Healthwatch, the Salvation Army and Vita Nova.
There will be experts on hand to help anyone with concerns about housing issues, mental health, money management, addiction and domestic violence – and the chance to find out what local support and wellbeing services are available.
Event organiser, Charlotte Wheele, says: “This is a very special date in the BCHA calendar; a real opportunity to come together as a community, have some fun, and showcase the variety of support available locally for people of all backgrounds. We appeal to all local businesses to get behind this event”.
There are stallholder and sponsorship opportunities available. For further information, please contact stephaniebray@bcha.org.uk
