As a GU6 Dorset Champion you have a vital role in committing to support other business leaders to manage their wellbeing. As a Champion you will be expected to offer your time for free – and without incentive or ambition for an sort of business gain – to those who need help. This could be acting as sounding board or a friendly ear at an event or at the end of the phone, or a more in-depth support through your shared experiences.
Our Champions can be identfied by their GU6 badges at events, We expect Champions to perform this role with commitment and diligence, attending events and following the agreed code of conduct.
Champions are not counsellors, coaches or mental health professionals (unless this is already part of their job). Instead, Champions offer informal, unstructured support – having your back.
All Champions are asked for to complete a Mental Health qualification (self-funded) before taking on this role.

How to approach a
GU6 champion
GU6 Champions will attend Dorset Chamber events, whether it be networking, business expos, business leader lunches or our Connecting in Nature walks. They will be identified at the beginning of the event and will be more than happy to be approached for a chat.
How to become a
GU6 champion
