Alongside the NHS outpatient clinic within the centre, the development of a £1.3million Skills & Learning Centre is further proof of The Dolphin’s commitment to supporting industry in Poole, with over 5,600 learners supported to date.

John Grinnell, Centre Manager, The Dolphin said: “The continual creation of new businesses in Dorset helps to accelerate innovation, increase job opportunities, and establish prospects for next generation talent throughout our local area.

“Entrepreneurship and business success aids in generating increased investment into our towns and will help to ensure Dorset is on the map for future opportunities”.

“That’s why we’re proud to support the Best New Business category at this year’s Dorset Business Awards, to celebrate the ambition, talent and drive across sectors in our county.

As the deadline of 23 June for entries draws closer we asked John Grinnell – what makes a great entry for the ‘Best New Business’ catgegory?

““The Best New Business award recognises a business who has shown innovative dedication to developing the business from a startup to a thriving, stable firm, and have acquired market presence in the sector. In this category, excellence can be demonstrated through evidence-based financial gains, demonstrating resilience, stability and continual reinvestment into the business.

“An exceptional entry will prove growth in their customer portfolio and detail the strategy to achieving this. Entrants should consider how their approach is different to that of competitors and how this is carving them space in the sector.

“Don’t forget, ambition won’t go unrecognised. We’re looking to be inspired by the best of Dorset’s new businesses.”
