Boscombe Presents Bournemouth’s Biggest Christmas Tree
Posted on: 19/12/2017

A phenomenally festive 40 FT Christmas tree has arrived in Boscombe in time for the holidays.
Boscombe’s business community has come together with the support of Bournemouth Coastal Business Improvement District (BID) to bring a ginormous Christmas tree to Boscombe town centre. Located in the precinct next to the genuine Hungarian Folklore Market, the dazzling artificial tree is set to wow visitors to the town in the final run-up to the Christmas festivities. Measuring at an astounding 12 metres (40 ft) and 700 meters holding six thousand twinkling lights, the tree is the largest Christmas tree to be found in Bournemouth.
Stefan Krause, Bournemouth Coastal BID Manager, said:
“Boscombe’s Christmas tree is a breath-taking sight to see. There is no other Christmas tree like it locally and we hope that all residents and visitors to the town will enjoy this giant festive symbol. Visiting the tree is a ‘must do’ for all major fans of Christmas – you won’t be disappointed!”
Those who visit the tree, which is sponsored by Specsavers, will also have an opportunity to catch one of the ‘twelve elves of Christmas’ by using Bournemouth Coastal BID’s cutting-edge augmented reality app. Described as an ‘interactive’ treasure hunt, participants will need to find 12 elves located in Bournemouth’s coastal areas and take selfies with them to be in with a chance of winning an array of amazing prizes. Clues about the elves locations can be found on the Bournemouth Seasons social media pages as well as the Go Bournemouth Coast App.
