Bournemouth & Poole College prepares to welcome prospective students

Bournemouth & Poole College is preparing to welcome prospective students at an open event next month (June) which will run in partnership with local mental health charity, Dorset Mind.
On Thursday June 9, from 4pm to 8pm, doors will be open at both the North Road, Poole, and Lansdowne, Bournemouth, sites. The event will give students, their family and friends, the opportunity to find out more about the college and its range of post-16 courses, view the facilities, as well as talk to tutors, career advisors, and current students.
Matt Butcher, Commercial Director at Bournemouth & Poole College, says: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome prospective students to both our sites at Bournemouth & Poole College. Whether they are making decisions following GCSEs or A Levels or if they are an adult learner returning to education, the open event is an important opportunity to discover the range of courses and apprenticeships on offer at our college.
“With exams taking place this summer, these could be the first traditional exams for two years for many students, causing added pressure and stress. With this in mind, we decided to partner with Dorset Mind for our open event to help alleviate this issue and support the charity’s aim to equip young people with the resources, support, and information they need to build resilience, learn how to deal with difficult emotions and live a mentally healthy life. Charity ambassadors will be on-hand at both sites to provide exam advice while raising money for this worthwhile cause.”
As well as finding out about the college’s range of academic, professional, and technical courses, visitors will be able to enjoy student performances, street food and a host of other activities.
