That’s where Build comes in. This programme delivered by Dorset Chamber for Business Growth Dorset, is designed to help Dorset’s charities, social enterprises and B Corps build the skills, networks and confidence to grow stronger and go further.

Programme Lead: Gareth Sherwood

Gareth Sherwood is the CEO of YMCA Bournemouth, Vice President of Dorset Chamber and Director of the HealthBus Trust. He is also a visiting fellow in Health and Social Care with Bournemouth University, sits on numerous local boards and is highly supportive of local causes. Gareth has a life history of working in the non-profit sector, in organisations and various charity services; doing so full-time since 2007 when he ceased practicing as a medical doctor after 8 years working in hospital medicine.

Gareth has worked paid and voluntarily as a doctor, educator, public speaker, ethics advisor, pastoral care worker, youth worker, trustee, director, consultant in business or charity development, as well as a church, charity and business leader. Gareth has served as a director with numerous charities and non-profit organisations across the UK and has broad experience in starting and developing volunteer groups, not for profit organisations and charities.
