Future Leaders Forum

Supporting the personal and professional development of our future leaders

The Dorset Chamber Future Leaders Forum is a series of events supporting the personal and professional development of our future leaders aged under 30.

Meeting on a bi-monthly basis, these events continue to provide a valuable networking opportunity as well as a focus on a range of themes, including:

  • Effective networking
  • ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance)
  • Financial Planning
  • Public speaking
  • Interview skills
  • Building confidence

As a Chamber, we’re keen to do more to support our future business leaders, our next generation, in their personal and career development. Our Future Leaders Forum has been set up to help our next generation of leaders come together to network, learn from each other, and develop their skills as they look forwards in their career.

Our ongoing ambition is to be a modern, relevant and inclusive chamber – that is very much in touch and engaged with our next generation. Key areas of discussion that were highlighted at our Future Leader Forum events included:

  • Networking skills
  • Hearing from inspiring business leaders
  • Development of soft and interpersonal skills
  • The opportunity to discuss key issues such as sustainability within business

Meet our Future Leaders Forum Chair and Vice-Chair

In June 2023, we appointed Toni Taylor as chair of the Future Leaders Forum, with Jack Ormesher and David Massieu-King as joint vice-chair.

Toni Taylor | Chair

Toni is managing director of recruitment specialists, Tru Talent, and also sits on the Dorset Chamber Board to represent the Forum and share issues raised by young professionals.

She has highlighted the scope the Forum has to impact the community, educate businesses on the changing desires and needs from future leaders, and the opportunity to learn from each other as well as hearing from inspiring speakers at events.

Jack Ormesher | Vice-Chair

Joint vice-chair Jack Ormesher is a trainee solicitor at Trethowans, whose personal focus is to drive initiatives within the Forum, and ultimately the local area, to help combat climate change and biodiversity loss.

He continues to shed light on the many advantages, whether monetary, social, or otherwise, of operating a business sustainably.

David Massieu-King | Vice-Chair

Fellow joint vice-chair David Massieu-King is a business development manager at Bournemouth and Poole College and is a keen advocate for helping young people advance in their careers.

Having worked in the education industry for several years, David is familiar with the triumphs and struggles that occur in early career progression and is excited to see the success from members of the Forum in the future.
