Care South Care Homes and Care at Home Teams Spread Christmas Magic Across the South With Light Switch-on Event

Care South, a leading provider of residential and care at home services, has kicked off the festive season in style by welcoming the community to enjoy their Christmas lights displays.

The not-for-profit charity hosted its annual coordinated Christmas lights switch on event which took place across its care homes across Dorset, Somerset and North Devon, and care at home services covering Dorset and Somerset, as well as its head office in Poole, Dorset.

Each year the lights switch-on events see residents, their relatives and loved ones, along with members of the local community gather for mulled wine and mince pies. Together they counted down to a host of seasonal lights and colourfully decorated Christmas trees being lit up both inside and outside of the homes, turning each into a winter wonderland.

Simon Bird, CEO of Care South, said: “Christmas is a truly magical time, and it’s wonderful to see our residents, care at home clients, families and local communities coming together to enjoy the festive spirit. Our annual lights switch-on brings warmth, joy and a sense of togetherness, with Food, Fun and Friendship at the heart of everything we do at Care South.”

Each care home will be hosting a range of events over the festive season including Christmas fayres, crafts, coffee mornings and live music for residents, their loved ones and visitors to enjoy.

This week, the homes are each hosting an Elf Day activity which seesthe teams don Christmas jumpers and elf outfits to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Society.
