Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with The Affinity Group

As a proud member of Dorset Chamber of Commerce, The Affinity Group is delighted to be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2026, recognising the vital role apprenticeships play in developing skills, careers and the future of our local business community.

At The Affinity Group, investing in people is at the heart of everything we do. For the past five years, we have run a structured apprenticeship scheme that provides young people and career-changers with the opportunity to earn, learn and build a rewarding career within professional services. Each year, we welcome a new cohort of apprentices into our teams across accountancy, tax, payroll and business support, giving them real-world experience alongside formal qualifications.

Our apprenticeship programme is designed to do more than simply train, it helps individuals grow into confident professionals. Apprentices are fully embedded into the business from day one, working with experienced colleagues, supporting client work and gaining exposure across multiple departments. Alongside their studies, they benefit from mentoring, practical skills development and a workplace culture that encourages ambition and progression.

National Apprenticeship Week provides a perfect moment to celebrate the success stories that have come from our scheme. Many of our former apprentices have gone on to secure permanent roles within The Affinity Group, with some progressing into senior and leadership positions. Their journeys demonstrate just how powerful apprenticeships can be when businesses are willing to invest time, expertise and genuine support into developing their people.

As a Dorset-based business, we also see apprenticeships as an important way of supporting the local economy. By creating opportunities for young people to train and work locally, we help retain talent in the region and contribute to the growth of a strong, skilled workforce. That’s why being part of the Dorset Chamber of Commerce is so important to us – it connects us with like-minded organisations that share a commitment to building a thriving business community across the county.

National Apprenticeship Week is about celebrating achievement, raising awareness and inspiring the next generation. At The Affinity Group, we’re proud of the role we play in shaping future careers and look forward to continuing our apprenticeship programme for many years to come.
