Chance for car drivers to try bus travel – thanks to new Morebus initiative

With the fuel situation continuing to worsen in Dorset and the rest of the UK, local bus operator Morebus is offering car drivers the chance to change their habits and use sustainable transport instead.

“People across the UK are feeling the strain, with food and energy costs soaring – and car drivers can add fuel prices to the list,” said Morebus managing director, Andrew Wickham.

“We want to offer local people the opportunity to save on fuel by leaving their cars at home and travelling with us instead. They can try our services for half the cost of regular weekly app tickets.

“In these challenging times, this is a chance to embrace green and efficient public transport, save money, reduce congestion, and improve air quality across our region.

“Much of our bus fleet carries low missions Euro 6 engines, and just one full double decker bus has the potential to take up to 75 cars off the road – so we’re hoping for a positive response from local people and the chance to make an impact on the quality of the air we breathe here in Dorset.

“In support of this, Morebus is once again offering potential passengers the chance to try out bus travel for their first week from just £6.75."

Customers using the Morebus app for the first time can travel in any zone as often as they like for their first week with 50 percent off standard seven day tickets, by using the discount code FUELJUNE22.

“And for those who haven’t used a bus in a long time, they will find our app has many other great features,” added Andrew. “As well as being able to buy tickets, people can track their buses in live time and plan a journey.”
