Coleman Insurance Brokers and Lester Aldridge co-hosted a GDPR workshop, entitled, ‘The New Regime’.

The event was held at the RNLI in Poole and attended by in excess of 35 local business people who were keen to hear the updates to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) laws which come into effect on 25^thMay 2018.

The agenda covered; how the law is changing under the GDPR and what this means for a business, the implications for HR and what an organisation needs to do to be GDPR compliant.

Clive Price, Head of Commercial Insurance at Coleman advised, “It was great to get such a good turnout.  There are many fears over the size of potential fines that might be imposed for non GDPR compliant businesses and everyone came with lots of questions that they needed answering.”

Lester Aldridge Partner Geoff Trobridge commented, “We have to treat personal data like any other property – if it belongs to someone else and you haven’t got a solid reason to use it, then you mustn’t.”​
