Commonwealth Games England appoints Salad.

Commonwealth Games England (CGE) has appointed the brand and communication agency Salad to design and build a first-in-class digital experience that will unite Team England fans in the run up to Gold Coast 2018.

Salad – who won a Lovie Award for the fully responsive race viewer for Clipper Race – pitched against a number of agencies to win the website project which will showcase their new visual brand identity.

The newly formed partnership will see an engaging and interactive website brought to life, showcasing exclusive information about the Team England athletes. With an impressive and intuitive data visualisation tool at its heart, visitors will also be encouraged to track and celebrate the success of the team during the games.

“We want to create an online experience with content that resonates with fans and inspires new ones. The Games on the Gold Coast next year are a huge opportunity for us and we want to make our new website a key destination for information on Team England. With the potential for a home Games on the horizon in Birmingham in 2022, these are exciting times and we are looking forward to marking this new era for the organisation with our new site. Everyone was really impressed by Salad’s pitch and we could tell they were a great team and a great fit for the job.” – Peter Hannon, Head of Media and Communications at Commonwealth Games England.

“Our on-going experience working with Clipper Race has given us some extremely relevant insights into the world of live sports. Our team is eager to create something distinctive that engages people and inspires pride in the Team.” – Fleurie Forbes-Martin, Marketing & Communications Manager at Salad.

A first glimpse of the new website will viewable by the new year.
