Solicitor Daisy Kershaw has taken the chain of office as president of Bournemouth & District Junior Lawyers Division (BDJLD).
Daisy, who works in Wills, Trust and Probate at Ellis Jones Solicitors, was elected for 2025/26 after serving as the BDJLD’s Social Events Officer for the past year.
She succeeds fellow Ellis Jones solicitor Matthew Rushent in the top position. Trainee Solicitor Jenny Saunderson, also of Ellis Jones, has become Vice-President.
BDJLD is part of Bournemouth and District Law Society (BDLS), which is the professional body representing solicitors in the town and the surrounding area.
Daisy said: “I’m honoured to step into this leadership role and look forward to working alongside a passionate and dedicated team to make a positive impact across our legal community.
“My ambition is to build an inclusive, welcoming and dynamic community for junior lawyers and aspiring legal professionals.
“Whether they are in their first year of practice or just beginning to explore a career in law, I want them to feel connected, supported and empowered to network, learn and thrive.”
Daisy, who is based in Ellis Jones’ Poole office in Canford Cliffs, qualified as a Solicitor in December 2024 after joining the firm in January 2023.

BDJLD supports the educational and professional development of members, provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and represents the interests of junior lawyers.
It organises a calendar of educational, sporting and social events throughout the year including charity fundraisers such as a summer ball and Christmas charity quiz.
Bournemouth and District Law Society (BDLS), was established in 1893 and has more than 600 members.
Lauren Day, Ellis Jones’ Head of Dispute Resolution, was elected as its Junior Vice-President for 2025/26.
