A regional law firm with offices in Dorset, Hampshire and London has promoted one of its top solicitors to Partner in its Dispute Resolution department.
Ellis Jones Solicitors has appointed senior ranked lawyer Daniel Flynn to the higher level of legal practice management and responsibility less than two years since he joined.
London-based Daniel is one of three senior Ellis Jones lawyers to hold the status of Solicitor Advocate, meaning he has the same rights of audience in the higher civil courts as a barrister.
This gives clients the benefit of getting to know him from the outset of proceedings so they can discuss and agree facts and arguments together to support the case.
The promotion comes amid an expansion of Ellis Jones’ practice network across the south with the recent openings of new offices in Dorchester and Wimborne, taking the total to eight.
Daniel, who has practised in London throughout his legal career, is a member of Ellis Jones’ growing team in the Capital.
The firm recently moved to larger office accommodation in Fleet Street to better support the provision of a full range of services in London as well as the south coast.
As a specialist in disputed trusts and estates, Daniel manages a busy caseload focused on the law of probate including issues around inheritance, wills, breach of contract, the roles of executors and trustees, and the ownership of land and both residential and commercial property.
He qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and joined Ellis Jones in 2023 as a Senior Associate Solicitor.
As well as being a Solicitor Advocate, he is a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
Daniel said of his promotion: “By stepping up to the new role of Partner I can contribute more to Ellis Jones’ strategic growth while still applying my skills and insight to advise and act for clients.”
Congratulating Daniel on what he described as a ‘much deserved promotion’, Ellis Jones Managing Partner Nigel Smith said: “We always look to promote and encourage talent among our team.
“Daniel is a key colleague, known for his legal acumen particularly around cases involving disputed trusts and estates.
“He has built a strong reputation for outstanding work and his leadership at Partner level will further strengthen our ability to provide the highest quality of client services.
“Adding senior depth to our team coupled with the expansion of our office network makes us well positioned for more growth.”
Ellis Jones has eight offices in Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne, Swanage, Dorchester and Ringwood as well as Fleet Street in London.
