Dorset Chamber general election reaction

Chamber chief executive Ian Girling said: “I hope this election will finally bring some certainty for businesses with a clear direction of travel on Brexit.

“But as our politicians hit the campaign trail over the coming weeks they must put the domestic agenda back on table, with a strong focus on the economy.

“Brexit has completely dominated politics over the last three years and it’s time to refocus on priorities for our businesses. Businesses in Dorset will want to see a reasoned, sensible debate especially about investment, infrastructure and measures to support economic growth.

“The chamber is politically impartial but we will continue stand up for business priorities in Dorset and nationally through the British Chambers of Commerce.”
