Dorset FA shortlisted for the County FA Recognition Award 2025

Dorset County Football Association has been successfully shortlisted for Football Development and Tackle Poor Behaviour Awards at the County FA Recognition Awards 2025 for Developing an offer of Visually Impaired Football for Young People in Dorset and the Play Positive, Stay Positive campaign.

Dorset FA has made the final shortlist for the Football Development Award for Developing an offer of Visually Impaired Football for Young People in Dorset.

Justine Mosley, Football Development Manager had this to say: “The Longfleet Vision Warriors is one of the projects I am proudest to have been involved with across my career. The collaboration between Dorset FA, the Dorset Vision Support Service and Longfleet FC has created a truly inclusive football offer for children in the County who have a visual impairment. The impact on not only the players but also their parents and the coaches involved in the sessions has been huge and far wider reaching than just in a football setting. It’s great to see the project being shortlisted within 2025 The County FA Recognition Awards!”

Dorset FA has made the final shortlist for the Tackle Poor Behaviour Award.  This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to promoting respect and positivity through the Play Positive, Stay Positive campaign. An initiative we’ve worked hard to embed across our grassroots’ community, from Mini-Soccer to Youth and beyond. Together, we’re striving for a more respectful pitch-side culture and a game everyone can continue to enjoy.

Roger Vaughan, CEO, Dorset FA said: “I am delighted that the efforts of the staff at Dorset CFA has been recognised again for the second year in a row by being short listed for two awards. This showcases the work that goes in from staff and volunteers throughout the year”.
