Elton’s 30 Years With Yellow Buses

After spending two weeks on work experience at Yellow Buses, Elton Musson was offered a full-time job – and he now has been with the company for 30 years.

For his service to the Bournemouth-based operator he was presented with a certificate and a token of appreciation by managing director David Squire.

Elton, 45, could notch up 50 years with the company if he continues until retirement – and he has no plans to move on.

He said: “I came as a mechanic on work experience from Oakmead College and I really enjoyed it.

“I was offered a job and when I arrived they put me in the body shop, which is where I’ve worked ever since.

“There are always challenges, but no two days are the same.”

Elton, whose hobbies include electronics and making amplifiers, is part of the award-winning engineering team at Yellow Buses.

David Squire, who has notched up 40 years in the bus industry, said: “Being at the same company for 30 years is quite an achievement.

“But we have a number of long servers here, which show that it must be a great place to work.

“Elton joined us as an apprentice and learned his trade here and continues to keep our fleet on the road.

“We hope Elton stays with us for many years to come.”
