ATA Carnet – Your Passport for Goods

Widely known as “passport for goods”, ATA Carnets are international customs documents that permit the duty and tax-free temporary importation of non-perishable goods for up to 12 months into countries subscribed to the ATA Carnet scheme.

This course is ideal for companies and sole traders who are looking to ease their temporary export/import procedures of non-perishable commercial goods taken overseas on a temporary basis to be used at events of a commercial nature, such as sports events, exhibitions, trade fairs, or to be used as commercial samples or professional equipment.

Delegates will learn all there is to know about ATA Carnets, as the course covers the Carnet journey from beginning to end, sharing with delegates best practices to apply and use the document effectively and make the best of its multiple benefits.

Course Contents
  • Introduction to ATA Carnets: Uses, benefits and restrictions
  • ATA Carnet application process
  • Carnet security
  • Digital ATA Carnets
  • How to use an ATA Carnet step-by-step
  • Discharge and disputes, what to do when something goes wrong

Who should attend?

This course is aimed to any companies or sole traders in the goods and services industries who need to take non-consumable commodities out of the UK on a temporary basis with a commercial purpose, whether to be used as commercial samples, professional equipment or at exhibitions and similar events.

The course covers all countries in the ATA Carnet scheme but is particularly beneficial for companies/sole traders moving goods temporarily to the EU, as since the UK departed from the European Union, customs controls to temporary movements by both territories have been implemented.

A certificate of attendance will be issued to delegates
