FOCUS ON EDUCATION: National Apprenticeship Week

February 7th 2022 will see the start of the 15th annual National Apprenticeship Week in England – a celebration and acknowledgment of the role apprenticeships have to play in local business, local communities and the development of regional economies.

At Weymouth College we champion apprenticeships and skills-based training every day and will again be recognising the value, opportunity and benefits they bring – to both apprentice and employer – as we support National Apprenticeship Week.

The theme of National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is ‘Build the Future’ and will actively link to the main pillars of the Government’s ‘Build Back Better’ campaign – train, retain and achieve.

The week will celebrate the partnership between education and business and their roles in providing work-based professional development and helping to develop the required skills and knowledge needed to start, enhance or kickstart a rewarding career.

A suite of strong skills-based training opportunities from local providers – such as Weymouth College – continues to support employers across many business sectors as they grow a bespoke, committed and resilient workforce.

Here at Weymouth College our Apprenticeship Team will be showcasing the many benefits that apprenticeships can bring to our employers and the wider Dorset business community with a range of information sessions and events.

We will be actively engaging with potential apprentices – school and college leavers and those looking to retrain or upskill – and will be widely inviting our local community to find out more about the opportunity and benefits of this career path with an on-campus Apprenticeship Employer Recruitment Fair.

If, as a local employer, business or community group, you would like to join us during National Apprenticeship Week then please do contact us now – details below – and we can talk through our plans and look at how we can work together to Build the Future.
