A Poole charity lit up Harbour View in Lytchett Minster in remembrance of loved ones this Christmas.
Forest Holme Hospice Charity held its annual memorial ‘Light Up a Life’ service on Thursday 30 November, bringing the local community together in support and solidarity to honour those who have died.
Not restricted to those connected with Forest Holme, all were welcome to join in the carol singing, lighting of candles and readings, followed by festive refreshments.
Chief executive of Forest Holme Hospice Charity, Hannah O’Hare, said: “We understand that Christmas can be a poignant and challenging time for those who have lost a loved one. At Forest Holme Hospice Charity, we recognise the importance of offering support and a sense of togetherness during this time of year.
“Our annual ‘Light up a Life’ service is a heartfelt occasion that provides our community with an opportunity to honour and remember those who have lit up our lives but are no longer with us.
“Thank you to the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly in hospice care, giving comfort, understanding and support to those in need. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, to Tapper Funeral Service, to the charity team, to Rev. John Taylor and our volunteers.”
For those who could not attend Thursday’s service, there is a second service on Sunday, December 10 at 10.30am at Harbour View in Lytchett Minster.
The Light Up a Life services also mark the launch of the Forest Holme Tree of Remembrance, located in The Dolphin, Poole. Open daily 10am to 3pm from Friday, December 1 until Friday, December 15 for members of the public to visit and make their dedications. Dedications made online will also be added to the Tree of Remembrance.
