Free, expert running advice at Bridge Health & Wellbeing on 11th July

Local runners are invited to come along to Bridge Health & Wellbeing in Christchurch on Tuesday 11th July, to access free advice from a range of running experts.

Alexandra Sports will be on-site with their 3D scanner & pressure mapping technology. Using this fantastic piece of kit, they will be offering 3D assessments and 3D insoles as well as advice on running gait and footwear. Alexandra Sports is the first running store in the UK to use FitStation, a revolutionary volumental scanner that accurately measures and produces a 3D image of your foot. Measuring length, width, volume and arch height helps determine which footwear and insole options are most suited for you. Time slots for free foot scanning can be booked in advance. Contact 01202 473800 or email info@bridgehw.com to book your space.

Bridge Health & Wellbeing sports massage therapist Nathan Nobel will offer advice on the benefits of sports massage for pre- and post-running events. Chiropractor Aaron Coode and musculoskeletal outpatients and hydrotherapy specialist Josephine Garofalides will be giving advice on staying 'fit to run', as well as advice on common running injuries, including Achilles pain, plantar fasciitis, knee and hip pain. Physiotherapist Paul O’Connell will be running demonstrations on Shockwave therapy treatment. Shockwave therapy is particularly effective for chronic soft tissue conditions like plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy. Stimulating the body’s natural healing process, it can deliver an immediate reduction of pain and improve ease of movement.

The free, drop-in event will run from 5.30 pm – 8 pm on Tuesday 11th, July, at the clinic on Bridge Street in Christchurch, Dorset. Whether you are an experienced runner or just getting into the sport, come along and speak to the experts.
