Bournemouth’s leading HR consultancy, Purple HR is hosting a free interactive Stress Management Workshop on the 15th March 2017 in conjunction with Stress Right.
Everyone experiences stress at work, whilst a little stress is good to keep us on our toes, too much can lead to catastrophe. Over 11.7 million working days are lost each year in the UK due to stress-related illness. Ahead of National Stress Awareness Month in April and to help local businesses combat stress, Purple HR is hosting a free Stress Management Workshop at The Orchid Hotel at 34 Gervis Road, Bournemouth, on Wednesday 15th March.
Costing businesses £16.2 billion a year, all employers must learn how to effectively manage stress within their organisation. Offering their best advice, expert speakers at the workshop will include Mandy Fitzmaurice, the Managing Director of Purple HR. Mandy will talk about tackling stress-related absences, the impact of stress on employees and the wider workforce, and what can be done to help.
Mandy Fitzmaurice, comments:“Stress at work is a major issue for employers and a significant cause of illness, high levels of sickness absence and staff turnover. On the 15th March, we invite local businesses to learn how to improve their performance by successfully managing and preventing stress in the workplace.’’
Guests will also hear from Paula Thompson, a qualified Stress Management Practitioner and the Managing Director of Stress Right in Poole. She will offer advice on identifying stress, how to help those who are feeling stressed, and simple tips for dealing with stress in a working environment.
Paula Thompson says:“Everyone needs to learn how to deal with stress. Uncontrolled stress will affect your decision-making, sleep, mood, social interaction, work and more importantly your overall health. At the upcoming workshop, we will give you the tools to regain control of your thoughts, your time and in all honesty, your life.’’
The workshop marks the first event in a series of activities Purple HR will be conducting in conjunction with Stress Right over March and April to raise awareness of the effects of stress in the work place. Taking place between 6 pm and 7:30 pm, refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
