Frettens Recognised Again in Legal 500

Frettens were once again recognised as one of the region’s leading law firms in The Legal 500 – the biggest independent guide to law firms and solicitors in the UK.

Numerous lawyers and teams from across the firm were recognised in the annual guide to the top law firms in the UK.

Some key themes from across the client testimonials that we received via the survey process, were the firm’s communication, ‘approachability and accessibility’ and ‘making the complex appear simple’.

Providing great value for our clients

Managing Partner, Matthew Fretten on the firm’s inclusion in this year’s guide:
“It is great that the hard work of our teams has been recognised yet again, with more people being recommended every year as we continue to grow.

We value these rankings highly as they are based on independent feedback from our clients. The feedback this year has been fantastic and knowing we are providing great value for our clients is, without doubt, the most valuable part of the process for us.

A huge thank you to all of our clients who took part in the Legal 500 research survey and said such wonderful thigs about our team.”

All commercial teams recognised

All of Frettens’ commercial teams were once again recognised in this year’s guide, including the growing Corporate & Commercial Team led by Karen Edwards, who was also recognised as a ‘Next Generation Partner’. Matthew Fretten and Sarah Sillar were also named as recommended lawyers in the team.

The firm’s Commercial PropertyCommercial Litigation and Employment teams were also recognised, with Malcolm Niekirk also being listed as a leading lawyer in Insolvency.

Matthew Fretten is happy that the firm’s growing commercial teams have once again been recognised.
“Twenty years ago, we were a fairly traditional high street practice, without a commercial offering. Now, almost half of our work is for commercial clients and we have a team to rival almost any other in the area. We have certainly ‘grown up’ a lot in that time.

Our growing Corporate Team works closely with our other commercial departments at the firm. Our Commercial Property, Employment, Litigation and Insolvency teams are all highly regarded and have been recommended in the Legal 500. This means we can offer our commercial clients a comprehensive service, all under one roof.”

Comprehensive Commercial Service

Michelle Hayter was recognised once again for her work in both commercial litigation and contentious trusts and probate. She heads up a litigation department that saw Anna Curtis and Will Bartley also named, with their ‘business-minded approach’ being noted.

Frettens LLP ‘provides a balanced and unbiased view of the situation’ and ‘takes a business-minded approach when assessing the core issues at hand’.

Paul Burton was listed again for his work in Employment and HR Law and was joined for the first time by team-mate Chris Dobbs.
‘Frettens always take a personal approach to their work. They don’t seem rushed or focusing on the clock/fees, rather they use a human and helpful approach.’
