From clinic-opener to team member: Physiotherapist Steve Hard joins the Bridge Health & Wellbeing team

In July 2019, Steve Hard officially cut the ribbon to open Bridge Health & Wellbeing in Christchurch, Dorset. As the lead physiotherapist at Bournemouth Football Club at the time, owners Paul & Louise O’Connell were delighted that Steve took the time to come and help them celebrate their official opening. After months of renovation work (and years of dreaming!) the doors to their family-run health and wellbeing clinic in Christchurch, Dorset were finally open.

Fast forward two years, a global pandemic, three lockdowns and countless appointments and classes later and Bridge Health & Wellbeing are delighted that Steve is coming full circle to join their physiotherapy team.

Paul O’Connell, Physiotherapist and co-founder said: “We are thrilled that, after being released by the club, Steve has chosen to join us at Bridge Health & Wellbeing. Steve and I originally trained together at the University of North London, completing our Sports Therapy degrees. He has been part of our Bridge Health & Wellbeing journey, right from the start. We are delighted to be able to bring his significant skills to the clinic and looking forward to working with him.”

Steve has many years of physiotherapy experience and a keen interest in sports medicine. He has spent 20 years working in professional football at both AFC Bournemouth and Millwall FC respectively.

Louise O’Connell, Pilates teacher and co-founder added: “Paul has been very busy with physio patients over the past few months and we were looking for a new physiotherapist to join our team. When we found out Steve had become available, we were really keen to get him on board. We are now able to offer even more physio appointments to our growing number of clients, as well as provide expertise in specific sports-related injuries.

Steve’s appointment comes as further good news for the thriving local health and wellbeing clinic. Bridge Health & Wellbeing welcomed chiropractor Aaron Coode and Sports Massage therapist Samantha Meehan-Vandike earlier this year, as well as a second receptionist. The clinic was Runner Up in the Family Business Awards in June and recently shortlisted as a finalist in the Business Leader Awards 2021 for Family Business of the Year.

Bridge Health and Wellbeing is a friendly, family-run clinic in the heart of Christchurch in Dorset, with high quality physiotherapy, sports massage, chiropractic treatment, expert Pilates, Yoga, Chi Kung wellbeing classes and state-of-the-art gym facilities all under one roof.
