Fun and games as Bourne View care home supports Children in Need

Songs, Pudsey onesies and teddy bear games were among the fun as residents and staff at Colten Care’s Bourne View did their bit for Children in Need.

The care home, at Langside Avenue on the Bournemouth-Pool border, overcame the challenges of Covid-related restrictions to continue its tradition of supporting the BBC’s annual fundraising appeal.

Members of the Companionship Team entertained residents by performing songs from musicals along with pop and jazz hits made famous by stars such as Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Junior.

And they organised an in-house raffle and games inviting residents to guess the name of a teddy bear and how many chocolate bears were in a jar.

Bourne View resident Helen Morris said. “We’ve had a lovely time and it’s been so nice listening to the singing. I like the fact that all this fundraising goes directly to children who need help and support.”

Dressed as official appeal mascot Pudsey Bear, Companionship Team Leader Karen Grant A’ Court said: “Children in Need is always a great chance for residents and colleagues to dress up, enjoy themselves and join in to support a worthy cause.”
