Greendale Construction nears completion on reconfiguration works at Weymouth House, Bournemouth University

Chartered Builders, Greendale Construction Limited is nearing completion on its works for Bournemouth University’s Faculty of Media & Communication on the ground floor of Weymouth House.  The £1.5 million, fourteen-week contract which commenced on 3rd June 2024, is part of the Talbot Campus remodelling project, and has seen Greendale involved in the formation of new PC labs, radio studios and podcasting rooms, as well as providing necessary welfare facilities, along with a social collaboration space at the heart of the building.

Additional and bigger teaching facilities will now be in place, in alignment with projected group sizes, creating an active and vibrant ground floor.  The redevelopment is a major project for Bournemouth University, delivering specialist student facilities for the Department of Communication & Journalism, and for students engaged with radio production from across the faculty, enhancing the student experience at BU.

Chris Kane, Director, Greendale Construction commented: “Greendale is always pleased to continue working with Bournemouth University on its redevelopment and improvement projects and this has been no exception.  The reconfiguration of the ground floor of Weymouth House at Talbot campus has helped improve the experience for both staff and students in time for the start of the new academic year.”
