Have Fun in Aid of Charity

Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s disability charity, is hosting an array of fun and exciting events to raise vital funds for children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset. Anyone can take part and no training is required!

The hugely successful Totally Wiped Out event, based on TV game shows like Wipe Out and Gladiator, will return for another year this summer for even more laughs and challenges. Gather friends or work colleagues for a fun-filled day on 1 July at Canford School in Wimborne. Teams of eight to ten are required to take part and registration is now open.  The cost per team is £60 until 1 April, thereafter it will increase to £120 per team. The minimum sponsorship per team is £600, and all funds raised will be supporting Diverse Abilities to continue running its vital services. Brand new this year is a special obstacle course for those aged between seven and 16 which is just £5 to enter.

The fun does not stop there as the charity are excited to introduce The Firewalk Challenge. This is a unique opportunity to stride along 20 inches of hot coals. Participants will be fully briefed on safety and no prior training is required to take part! The Firewalk will be taking place at Tower Park on the 17 November. The entrance fee is only £20 per person and participants are encouraged to raise as much as they possibly can.

Or perhaps you want to experience something incredible and conquer your fears, or are a thrill seeker?? A skydive might be up your street. Sign up to experience the rush of jumping 10,000ft through the air.

Lauren McCullough, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “Fundraising for us has never been more fun. We wanted to encourage people to take part in something which would be an amazing experience for them whilst raising vital funds we need to run our services. These events do not require any training, so sign up and look forward to the fun ahead.”

Your fundraising could achieve the daily cost to run the advice service to provide guidance and support, specialist toys for children with disabilities to play with, a day’s vital medical supplies for the children at the charity’s specialist school and much more.
