Health-on-Line last night won the Health and Wellbeing award at the Dorset Business Awards. After launching their HOListic Wellbeing programme at the start of the year, the award is recognition for how much they’ve focussed on their employees’ health this year.
Taking place at the Bournemouth International Centre, 650 guests attended the awards including the 36 finalists nominated for one of the twelve categories available. Health-on-Line faced strong competition from other finalists Greendale Construction and Investec, but scooped the title which seeks to recognise a successful Dorset-based business who empowers and supports its people to succeed.
Vicky Young, Head of HR, said: “We are really proud to have won this award, particularly given the strength of the other finalists – it was a very competitive category.
“It really highlights how important looking after the health and wellbeing of employees is for businesses moving forwards, and it’s something we intend to continue focusing on next year.
“A massive thanks to everyone at Health-on-Line who has worked on the programme.”
Health-on-Line’s health and wellbeing programme is built around the 5 Ways of Wellbeing model and was introduced to the private medical insurer by national charity, Mind. It involves events and initiatives that fit into categories of either connect, active, mindful, learn or give; with the overall aim of improving the personal wellbeing of every employee.
They have worked hard this year to implement something different, something continuous and to respond to staff feedback that sporadic events aren’t enough and support should be ongoing. On offer in the Bournemouth office, there has been a wellbeing library, lunch and learn sessions on finance, resilience and menopause, as well as local discounts, massages and talks from nutritionists.
Mike Dalby, Managing Director of Health-on-Line said: “As a private medical insurer we engage with Health & Wellbeing on a day-to-day basis with our customers, and therefore understand the importance this emphasis plays in our society today. We believe that making health and wellbeing integral at Health-on-Line internally will ensure we have an engaged and motivated workforce, enabling us to focus on delivering great customer service, and therefore an all-round better organisation”.
