HealthBus Shines at Vitality Bay Run 2025 with Record-Breaking Team

HealthBus Trust made a powerful impact at this year’s Vitality Bay Run, held on Sunday 23 March 2025, with its largest-ever team and a strong show of community spirit. A record 63 runners took part in support of the charity, joined by 14 enthusiastic marshals and 14 committed Race Village volunteers — all rallying to raise awareness and funds for specialist healthcare for people experiencing homelessness across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.

The sunlit coastal route provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with energy, generosity, and solidarity. Crowds gathered to cheer on the HealthBus team, creating an uplifting atmosphere that celebrated compassion and connection. The event served not only as a fundraiser, but also as a meaningful opportunity to highlight the critical health inequalities faced by rough sleepers and vulnerably housed individuals in the region.

The charity extended heartfelt thanks to its team of volunteers, supporters, and corporate sponsors for making the day such a resounding success. Special appreciation went to sponsors Envista, AJC Group, Walker, Marsham Court Hotel, The White Bear, and Zest, whose contributions were instrumental in helping HealthBus reach new heights.

“This wasn’t just a run — it was a celebration of everything our community stands for: inclusion, care, and action,” said a HealthBus Chairman, Christopher Wakefield. “Every step taken and every cheer from the sidelines moved us closer to our vision of health equity for all.”

With the success of the Vitality Bay Run 2025, HealthBus continues to build momentum for its mission to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed healthcare to those most in need. The funds raised will support the charity’s expanding outreach services, helping provide access to GP care, mental health support, vaccinations, wound care, and long-term condition management.

From seasoned runners to first-time participants, the sense of shared purpose was unmistakable. The event marked not just a moment of fundraising, but a wider movement of community-driven change.

As the final runner crossed the finish line, one thing was clear: together, we can run towards a healthier, fairer future for all.
