High Sheriff thanks Ferndown volunteers

The High Sheriff of Dorset presented the directors of Ferndown Community Support with a certificate to recognise the support that the group has given to the local area. Thanks were given to all the fantastic volunteers and donors that help the residents of Ferndown.

The group helped coordinate food deliveries and prescriptions for those residents that have had to self-isolate or shield throughout the pandemic. They have accumulated 250 volunteers within the community that served nearly 300 residents. Over and above that various activities have been organised throughout the pandemic such as a Christmas light competition as well as fish and chips deliveries. Looking ahead the group hope to organise a food bank and have just launched an Easter Egg trail. What a great example of people pulling together and displaying true team spirt.

Tony Brown one of the directors said: “The whole team are honoured and proud to have been recognised like this, which highlight the fantastic community spirit we have in Ferndown”.

Tony Brown is Dorset Chamber Vice President and Chair of the Chamber Ambassadors. He is also on the Dorset Chamber board and owns Y-Not Finance.
