Full-service PR, social media and marketing agency, McKenna Townsend (MT) has been appointed by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) to support the global marine sector launch of its research report, Pathways to Propulsion Decarbonisation for the Recreational Marine Industry. The report is the first of its kind in the marine industry and will outline a portfolio of technologies best positioned to continue to propel the industry toward decarbonisation.
The report will be launched via a series of three presentations at METSTRADE (15 – 17 November). MT will manage all event logistics at the show, as well managing media attendance and securing one-to-one interviews with key spokespeople.
MT will also manage a global PR programme for the roll-out of the report with marine sector media, spanning more than 50 countries, to drive widespread media coverage and downloads of the research.
ICOMIA brings together national marine industry associations into one global organisation and represents them at an international level, presenting a strong and united voice when dealing with issues challenging the industry. ICOMIA has been an active advocate for the international marine industry since 1966, working with authorities, regulatory bodies and related organisations to facilitate and encourage the growth of the recreational marine industry whilst keeping on top of policies and guidance to ensure safety, sustainability and compliance.
Matt McKenna, Co-Founder and Managing Director of McKenna Townsend, said: “We are delighted to be working with ICOMIA on the launch of its ground-breaking new report. We are very passionate about sustainability at McKenna Townsend, and coupled with our specialist marine experience, we are perfectly placed to deliver a global PR programme that will communicate the report findings to the marine sector. The team has been busy working on plans for METSTRADE for the past few months and we look forward to the official launch at the show later this week.”
Joe Lynch, CEO of ICOMIA, said: “The report is the first stage in our Propelling Our Future campaign. We sought a partner that could help us launch the research findings to global marine media through specialist international sector expertise and McKenna Townsend is the ideal partner to help us deliver our ambitions. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the report launched and continuing our partnership with McKenna Townsend into 2024.”
