Iron Mill College post qualifying diploma courses, commencing this Autumn are now open for applications. Now that Easter is past and we head into the run up to summer, it’s a good time to plan for September! We offer a number of excellent courses at the college, which will benefit your professional development.

 

Diploma in Supervision

Part-time | 12-Days | Advanced Training Status with NCPS 

This part-time course for qualified professionals:

  • provides those in the helping professions with a repertoire of creative supervision strategies.
  • builds practitioners’ understanding of the need for supervision and the purpose of supervision, as well as their awareness of the educative, supportive and managerial elements of supervision.
  • suitable for those qualified in a range of professions, including counsellors, psychotherapists, counselling or clinical psychologists, mental health or wellbeing professionals, nurses, doctors, teacher and those in other related roles.

Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Young People (8-18 years)

Part-time | 20-Days (Over 8 months) | Weekends 

This Diploma addresses the majority of the BACP Competences for Humanistic Counselling with children and young people. It ‘s designed for those counselling practitioners who are post-qualified but who need further specialist training to enable them to work competently with young people. The objectives of the course are to:

  • provide a sound working knowledge of the ethical, professional and legal frameworks relevant to young people.​
  • develop understanding of family development , how external environment interacts with child/adolescent development.​
  • enable you to develop further the theory and principles underpinning your practice and apply your existing knowledge of and competence in working in therapeutic relationships within the context of counselling.​
  • build on your working knowledge of mental health difficulties, well-being and pharmacology.​
  • develop your competence to work with the whole person.
