Julia’s House joins Government Kickstart employment scheme

Local children’s hospice charity, Julia’s House, is taking part in the Government’s Kickstart employment scheme, to help young people at risk of long term unemployment gain valuable skills. They are recruiting for 30 vacancies in their high street shops across Dorset and Wiltshire as well as other areas of Julia’s House Retail, where the Kickstart placements will join a training programme to help them gain experience and knowledge in different aspects of the charity retail sector. The shops will re-open on Monday 12 April.

The local community gives us such great support, it’s nice to be able to give something back,” says Tracy Stanley, Julia’s House Retail Manager. “ We know employment is challenging for young people at the moment and it’s been a difficult time for them, so we really wanted to contribute something that would make a difference locally. You never know, we could discover our Julia’s House shop managers of the future!

As part of the Kickstart scheme, Julia’s House is offering 30 six month placements for young people on Universal Credit aged between 16 and 24.
