To mark its 20th anniversary, Julia’s House, the local children’s hospice, is inviting the community to join in with a Family Fun Day at its charity shop in Creekmoor on Saturday 3rd June from 10am – 4pm.
The event will be compered by Hospital Radio Bedside and features performances throughout the day by local musicians including a saxophonist from soul and Motown band The Defectors, Reminiscence-UK playing retro-rock and blues, and singer Clairelouise from The Sensational Sweets. The Julia's House choir will also perform and there will be games, face painting by Twinkles and appearances from Minnie and Mickey Mouse and Paddington characters.
Refreshments will be available from the Big Chief ice cream van and delicious wood fired pizzas from Rob’s Filling Station, including a specially designed Julia’s House anniversary pizza in honour of the charity’s twenty years.
A raffle drawn at 4pm offers the chance to win Bournemouth Football club memorabilia – including two framed shirts signed by the players and coupled with a certificate of authenticity. Tickets are available on the day or can be purchased ahead of the event from the Julia’s House shop in Creekmoor.
In addition to marking twenty years of providing life-changing care to the families of seriously ill children, the charity’s Creekmoor shop celebrates its 10th anniversary. The shop will be open for business as usual throughout the Fun Day so that guests can browse and make purchases from the vast array of pre-loved clothing, toys and bric-a-brac that’s available.
