Leading regional law firm Trethowans has raised almost £15,000 for three local charities in the last year.
The funds raised will go to Chestnut Nursery in Poole, which supports adults with mental illness via horticulture, The Joe Glover Trust – a children’s cancer charity based in Hampshire, and Naomi House and Jacks Place which provides hospice care for life-limited and life-threatened children and young people in the Wessex region.
The funds were raised by the 230 Trethowans employees across their multiple sites in Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury and Southampton.
Cake bakes, dress down Friday’s, Easter egg collections, and a barn dance all helped the team reach the impressive total.
Individual charitable challenges were also taken on – including an epic 550-mile charity bike ride across France by commercial property partner Paul Longman and several staff members taking part in the Winchester half marathon.

We’re so proud of the amount of money raised this year for these three very deserving charities. The whole firm have worked together to raise this fabulous amount via a diverse range of activities and it’s been great to see such an excellent result.”
The Charities being supported by Trethowans in 2018 are:
Bournemouth – Wooden Spoon – the charity aims to positively transform the lives of children and young people with a disability or facing disadvantage through power of rugby. From sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and sports activity areas to respite, medical and community care, they fund around 70 projects each year that support disadvantaged and disabled children.
Poole – Julia’s House – a children’s hospice which provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at their hospices.
Salisbury – Salisbury Trust for the Homeless – provides a home for single adults who would otherwise have nowhere to live as well as supporting them with the opportunity to develop essential life skills, identify and develop options for the future, access education, training and employment, access permanent housing and return to independent living.
Southampton – Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity – which supports families within Southampton who have a child aged 0-18 years of age with a life threatening or terminal illness.
