Local Care Home Takes a Memory Walk for World Alzheimer’s Day

Upton Bay care home in Hamworthy has completed a Memory Walk in support of Alzheimer’s world day.

The leisurely stroll took place from Upton Bay care home down to Hamworthy Park. Residents, their relatives and staff stepped out in aid of a charity that means a lot to those pounding the pavements.
After the walk, all participants stopped off for refreshments at the café in the park.

In addition, we are thrilled to announce that our dedicated Activity Lead, Karen, has successfully completed her 13-mile Alzheimer’s Walk for the Upton Bay community and family. Starting at Canford Cliffs, Karen embarked on this meaningful journey, which included the 8km Bournemouth Memory Walk, before returning to Canford Cliffs.

To mark the day, our lovely Memory Lane residents, along with their family and friends, came together to create beautiful flower arrangements. It was a heartwarming sight as everyone helped each other craft their own unique floral master piece.

A huge thank you goes out to all the residents, families, friends, and the Upton Bay team for their support in helping us raise valuable funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. Special appreciation to the families who generously donated the flowers and to our fantastic chefs who prepared the delicious cupcakes. Together, we have raised an impressive £265.00 so far.
