Local Nursery Educate Children on Remembrance Day

Tops Day Nurseries throughout Dorset have taken part in a variety of activities for Remembrance Day.

The Preschool children at Tops Christchurch, located in Priory Hall, Christchurch, have been learning about Remembrance Day through understanding the importance of the poppy, why we wear them and how we remember the soldiers from all wars. The children had a go at creating their own poppies using different materials like red and green playdough.

Tops Day Nurseries Corfe Mullen on Blandford Road also learnt all about poppies and created seed paper poppies to plant next Spring, the seed mix contains a variety of beautiful wildflowers including poppies.

Shaye Jaques, Nursery Manager at Tops Corfe Mullen said; “The children really enjoyed making their own poppies and were very interested to find out why we wear them. It is so important to teach the children about Remembrance Day because it is one of the most important days in our history and it helps them to understand the world around them.”

Tops Day Nurseries provides eco-sustainable Early Education and Care for children aged 3 months to school age. They have over 30-day nurseries across the South and Southwest. Tops also offer before, after-school and Hi5 holiday clubs for children up to the age of 11.
