Players from Bournemouth Sports Ladies Football Club visited the Bournemouth offices of their new sponsor, Micro Nav, for them to hear more about their sponsor, the software company developing air traffic control simulators.
Their visit was hosted by ex-Air Traffic Controller and Subject Matter Expert at Micro Nav, David Harvey, who has been involved with the ladies’ team since 2017 as their Sports Injury Therapist and Emergency First Aider, providing players with injury assessment, injury rehabilitation advice, and touchline First Aid support.
Ladies’ football is flourishing at grassroots level and, with the success of the ladies’ national side in the recent World Cup and subsequent media coverage, is making the sport more accessible to women and girls.
This year, Micro Nav is proud to have been asked to sponsor the team’s kit, and the First Team’s Player’s Player of the Match award. As a software company, Micro Nav is conscious of its responsibility to inspire and encourage girls and women into the traditionally male-dominated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) industry.
Formed in 2013, Bournemouth Sports Ladies Football Club has grown in numbers, such that, for this season, they are able to field two squads – a First Team and a development squad. Bournemouth Sports FC is an FA Charter Standard Development Club affiliated to Hampshire FA, providing football for all ages.
Bournemouth Sports Ladies Football Club trains every Wednesday evening, 7pm – 9pm, at the Chapel Gate Sports Club. They are always on the lookout for new players.
