Mike Pavitt, Partner and head of Paris Smith’s Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency team, has been appointed Council Member at R3, the UK’s insolvency and restructuring trade body, which represents members of the insolvency profession across the UK.
This is Mike’s first appointment to the R3 Council, having previously played an active role in R3’s Southern and Thames Valley regional committee.
R3 Council members represent the national membership and play a vital role in R3’s strategic decision-making process, determining policy and business strategy. The UK’s insolvency and restructuring framework is rated as one of the best in the world by the World Bank, and R3 enjoys a corresponding role on the international stage.
Caroline Sumner, CEO of R3:
“Mike has been a pillar of our Southern and Thames Valley region for many years, serving as its Chair between 2016 and 2019 and driving the organisation of our hugely successful Southern Forum in 2017. We’re delighted he’s going to be bringing this expertise and his extensive experience in the profession to the Council table and everyone at R3 is looking forward to working with him in his new role.”
Mike Pavitt, Partner – Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency:
“Having enjoyed my first public R3 engagement in Reading last week, it almost feels as if I haven’t been away for the past four years. I’m excited for my return to R3 and looking forward to engaging with new and existing members across the country on a range of issues. My door is always open to members, journalists and key stakeholders operating in and around the insolvency profession.”
