‘Mind Over Matter’- A recent fundraising evening that promoted Men’s Mental Health and Awareness took place at Canvasnightclub on the 14th September.
Suicide is the single largest killer of men aged under 45 in the UK. In 2015, 75% of all UK suicides were male.
And yet men suffering with mental health often go un-diagnosed.
Why? It’s because they suffer in silence.
Three incredible women joined forces to let the men of Bournemouth know it is “okay not to be okay” and that there is help out there for everyone, whatever their circumstance.
Anna and Vikki Knowles, and Suroma Halder created an event together to raise awareness.
They successfully created a fun and positive evening that also promoted men’s wellbeing and demonstrated how much they are valued.
A fun event for a serious cause. The evening was filled with entertainment and special guests. The event’s grand finale was The ‘Full Monty’, featuring men of all shapes, sizes, ages and sexualities. Ordinary people did something quite extraordinary to raise awareness in their local community.
All profits from ticket, raffle, online donations is being donated to their chosen charity, Dorset Mind. The mental health charity will use the funds to help support local people towards positive wellbeing.
The event organisers and Dorset Mind would like to thank all that have been involved, from individuals, businesses, this was a great community gathering.
