At Suttles Stone Quarries, we’re delighted to announce the arrival of two brand-new Volvo tipper lorries. This investment marks a significant upgrade for our fleet; one that reinforces our commitment to reliability, safety and efficiency in our service across Dorset and the South West.
These new Volvo vehicles replace older models and come equipped with the latest driver-assist systems, improved fuel efficiency and upgraded safety features. By modernising our transport operations we are further strengthening our ability to deliver top-quality quarry materials from site to site, and from Dorset into the wider region.
But this isn’t just about new lorries. It’s about the values and long-term commitment behind them. We’re proud to hand these lorries over to two of our longest-serving drivers: James “Rod” Drane, who has been with us for 27 years, and Martyn Percy, a valued member of our team for 24 years. Their professionalism, dedication and local experience reflect the high standards we set for every load we deliver.
At Suttles, our people are just as important as our plant. Retaining experienced team members underlines our ethos of loyalty, trust and continuity. By investing in both modern equipment and our workforce, we continue to strengthen our reputation as one of the leading quarry and aggregate suppliers in Dorset and the wider South West.
Sustainability is also a key driver in this decision. These two new lorries are part of our wider efforts to move towards a safer, smarter and greener fleet. The fuel-efficiency gains will support our long-term environmental goals while maintaining dependable service for customers across the region.
We extend our thanks to Rod and Martyn for their many years of outstanding service. We wish them many safe and successful miles ahead in their new Volvo lorries!
