Bournemouth, October 2025, Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital reach a major milestone this month, proudly celebrating ten years since the launch of its Cardiology Department, marking a decade of innovation, teamwork, and life-changing care for the local community.
Since opening the doors to its state-of-the-art cardiac unit in 2015, the hospital has delivered over 25,000 cardiac patient appointments, including cutting-edge diagnostics, interventions and almost 5000 minimally invasive procedures in its advanced catheter lab.
The Cardiology Unit at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital has undergone significant growth and development, expanding from a team of 8 to 22 specialist staff. In the past 10 years, the unit has introduced cardiac rehabilitation services and implemented advanced ablation software updates to enhance patient care. The department was officially opened by football legend Graeme Souness and Dr Suneel Talwar, Consultant Cardiologist, who continues to lead the service today.
Graeme Souness, himself a previous patient, shared this special message for the anniversary:
