Posted on: 16/06/2022

As part of its mission to deliver an exceptional experience for its customers and its retailers, OnBuy.com will soon be revealing its new and exciting technological plans, full of significant improvements and new integrations. Today the UK-based online marketplace has announced the appointment of Julian Browne, as Chief Technology Officer to drive the campaign forward at pace.

After 30 years of leading tech and product teams to success, Julian is as experienced as they come. As CTO for private equity backed scale-up, Comparison Technologies, Head of Engineering at Hive, and Chief Architect at O2, he proved his expertise in implementing agility, digital and cultural transformations.

Prior to these roles, Julian has held many senior positions spanning the tech industry, all of which have benefitted from his deep technical knowledge, creativity and vision.

Cas Paton, Founder and CEO of OnBuy comments, “We are really excited to welcome Julian to the executive team at such a pivotal time for OnBuy. We have mega plans for the platform in the upcoming months and Julian’s vast experience, expertise, and true visionary mindset, combined with our ambition, will lead and further solidify our commitment to creating the best choice marketplace for retailers and customers alike.”

Commenting on his appointment, Julian said, I feel I’ve joined OnBuy at a significant and exciting point in its journey, as it breaks free of its start-up roots to become a truly major player in the marketplace sector. I’m looking forward to helping scale the business to even greater heights.”

Due to its continued growth, as recognised by the FT1000 fastest growing companies in Europe listing, OnBuy has executed a business-wide recruitment drive, seeing a series of important hires. Julian is the most recent senior hire and will be followed by more, as the company continues to scale.
