Only 20 episodes in and It Runs In The Family hits a top spot in best family podcasts

Only 20 episodes in and now attracting listeners in 42 countries, the It Runs In The Family podcast, created by Sandbanks-based PR and communications agency Liz Lean PR, has successfully climbed to number three in top UK family podcasts, reached number 95 in the best UK entrepreneurship podcasts, as well as gained a spot in the top 200 Italy entrepreneurship podcasts (number 182).

In just sixth months, the international reach for the It Runs In The Family podcast has increased by 50 per cent with the number of countries reached increasing from 21 to 42 and this can be attributed to the quality of UK-based family business guests with an international appeal. Guests have included Thatchers Cider, popular in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe; Arbikie Distillery, gin and spirits found in Asia and North America; the legendary international chef Marco Pierre White; and Jimmy’s Iced Coffee which is available in fridges across the UK and beyond.

To celebrate this success and to mark the 20th episode of It Runs In The Family, mother and daughter podcast hosts, Liz and Leila Willingham, have put themselves in the hot seat to showcase their own  PR and communications agency family business alongside all the wonderful heritage, humility and huge successes they have heard from some of the country’s oldest, boldest family businesses through their interviews.

With more than two decades of history and counting, Liz Lean PR (LLPR) is where Liz, founder and managing director of LLPR, and Leila, business and PR account manager at LLPR, put into practice all the qualities they have heard about from the series’ fascinating guests so far. In episode 20 of It Runs In The Family, son and brother Jack Willingham is the interviewer and asks some probing questions on life at LLPR and the mother-daughter relationship that makes their business journey unlike any other.

Commenting on making their mark in the podcasting arena and hitting the charts, Leila says: “The response we have had to date for our podcast has been incredible. It’s with thanks to all the incredible guests we have interviewed to date, who have revealed their family business insights, that we’ve been able to achieve top spots in major podcast charts – including in Italy!

“We look forward to continuing to deliver great content for people across the global to listen to and share the stories, values and traditions of a diverse range or family and multi-generational businesses.”
